"We'll congregate on the beach near the day use lot. We'll put up a table, camp stove, and big blue shade canopy, and a small (sorry) meetup sign will face the parking lot."

Details

Hi Everybody,

We have five members who want to get out into open water. I'm ready too! Our kayak escort has not returned my messages, but one of our members has a kayak and will bring it. We'll gather at Beals Point.

Wetsuits can be rented at Fleet Feet if you need one. Mo does not wear a wetsuit, neither does Alan.

Some members and friends suggested a pot luck picnic, which of course, is a fantastic idea. Family friends, non-swimmers, are all welcome. We'll spend some time getting aquainted, swim, then eat. We'll bring a camp stove for hot water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and these beverages will be provided. We'll bring our limited supply of camping cups and plates.

Directions to the Beals Point:

80 east Reno
From Hwy 80 you will take the Douglas Blvd. exit out of the city of Roseville. Go east on Douglas for about 6 miles make a right on Auburn-Folsom Rd. go about 2 ½ miles until you come to a stop light the sign will say Beals Point and you make a left.

Hwy 50 SLAKE Tahoe
Take the Folsom Blvd. exit go north on Folsom for about 7 miles (the road will change names to Folsom-Auburn) you will come to a stop light, the sign will say Baals Point and you make a right.

Thanks for your interest!
